Car robbed at gunpoint recovered

CHANDIGARH: The Verna car that was robbed at gunpoint by car thief Jagseer Singh, alias Seera, and his accomplices, in Sector 35 on March 17, has been recovered by the UT police from Sector 25.

The Verna car that was robbed at gunpoint by car thief Jagseer Singh, alias Seera, and his accomplices, in Sector 35 on March 17, has been recovered by the UT police from Sector 25.

The police said the car was recovered from near the Cremation Ground in Sector 25 after a tip-off. Seera and his accomplices drove the car several thousand kilometres within a month.

Police sources said Vikram (30), a native of Abohar, was going to Mohali, Phase II, at 2.30 am when a Hyundai Creta hit his car from behind near the flower market in Sector 35. Occupants of both cars entered into an altercation after the accident. In the meantime, one of the accused pulled out a pistol and threatened the victim. They accused fired twice at the victim before fleeing with his car.
