Carjackers target BTech student in Mohali

MOHALI: The Mohali police have booked three unidentified youngsters, who abducted a BTech student along with his car and later fled with the vehicle after abandoning him near Chunni village here last night.

The Mohali police have booked three unidentified youngsters, who abducted a BTech student along with his car and later fled with the vehicle after abandoning him near Chunni village here last night.

The police registered a case against the youngsters at the Mataur police station on a complaint of victim Abhishek Sharma’s father under Sections 365, 382 and 34 of the IPC and under the Arms Act here today.

According to the police, Abhishek Sharma had gone to a gym at the Phase VII market late in the evening in his Verna car. 

“While returning when he sat in his car, the three miscreants forcibly entered into the vehicle and asked Abhishek to start the car while brandishing a pistol. The  miscreants asked him to drive towards the Sirhind side,” said a police official.

When three miscreants reached near Chunni village, they dumped the victim and fled with the car.
