Getting a case of transfer of property cleared from the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) within the stipulated time will now cost applicants dear.
For the speedy disposal of applications related to all transfer cases, the board of members of the CHB today approved a heavy amount of Rs 50,000 under the Tatkal service that will enable applicants to get their cases cleared within five working days. This fee will be in addition to all other applicable fee or charges to be taken from the applicants. “The charges are on the higher side. This will disturb the routine dealing of transfer cases,” said an applicant.
Giving details of the board meeting held today, CHB Chairman Maninder Singh said at a press conference that under the Tatkal service, the transfer of a dwelling unit would be accepted on “duly completed documents in all respects as per the check list given in the Citizens’ Charter”. In case of transfer applications where a public notice was required to be given in newspapers, the notice would be published to invite objections from the public within the time period specified in the Citizens’ Charter. However, the transfer would be given effect within a period of five working days.
Reservation of flats for mediapersons
The board resolved to provide 2.5 per cent quota to mediapersons under schemes to be floated by the CHB by amending Clause 25 of the Chandigarh Housing Board (Allotment, Management and Sale of Tenements) Regulations, 1979. The reservation for journalists will be subject to the condition that he/she or his wife/her husband or any of his/her minor children do not own on freehold, leasehold or hire-purchase basis, a residential plot or house in the UT or in any of the urban estates of Mohali or Panchkula. The applicant should be a bona fide resident of Chandigarh.
