Chandigarh Cricket Association played out a draw against Kurukshetra Cricket Association to share a point each in the Haryana Inter-District Cricket Championship for Pataudi Trophy at DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, here today. 

Batting first, the Chandigarh boys were all out for 221 in 39.3 overs. Manual Jain led the team and scored 94 off 92 balls studded with seven boundaries and three sixes. He was supported by Guntash Veer Singh who scored 47 off 91 balls, which included four boundaries and two sixes. Nikhil Thakur (20) was the other notable scorer for the side. Lakhwinder Singh shined for Kurukshetra as he claimed 5/34, including a hat-trick. Abhishek claimed two wickets. 

In reply, the visitors were also bowled out for 221 runs in 39.5 overs. Vikas Rajpal (45 off 34 balls, including seven boundaries), Deepak (37 off 36 balls, studded with seven boundaries) and Harjot Singh (33 off 39 balls, studded with two boundaries and two sixes) contributed the major share. Divjot Singh (5/26) and Lakesh Kumar (3/57) claimed the major share of the wickets for Chandigarh.

Ajay's century helps Panchkula beat Ambala

Ajay Dhuhan scored an unbeaten 120 off 123 balls to help Panchkula defeat Amiably Cricket Association by 106 runs in the second match at JR Institute of Cricket Technology in Barwala today. 

Batting first, Panchkula posted 276/3 in 40 overs. Openers Duhan and Vishal Sahani provided the desired start to the team with a 135-run partnership for the opening wicket. Sahani was the first man to be dismissed after being bowled by Ritish on 63 off 70 balls, which included nine boundaries. M Chaudhary (5) was dismissed by Sarthak Passi with the team’s total reading 176 in 29.4 overs. Skipper Sagar Sharma joined Duhan and the duo kept the momentum going. Sagar scored 28 off 21 balls, including four boundaries, while Duhan completed his century to ensure 276/3 in the allotted 40 overs. 

In reply, Ambala lost their first wicket in the first over as opener Raman Ram Gopal was dismissed by Sanjeev Kumar. Ramandeep (42), Sahil (24) and Ashwani (21) tried to get to the target but failed. The side folded up for 170 in 39.4 overs. Pankaj Sharma claimed 4/35 while Sanjeev Kumar, Himanshu Gautam and Vivek Vashisht claimed a wicket each.
