City greenery impresses Chittoor councillors

CHANDIGARH: A delegation of 34 councillors, along with Mayor K Hemalatha and Deputy Mayor Sri R Subramanyam, of Municipal Corporation, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, visited the city to understand the working of the civic body here.

Chandigarh, November 20

A delegation of 34 councillors, along with Mayor K Hemalatha and Deputy Mayor Sri R Subramanyam, of Municipal Corporation, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, visited the city to understand the working of the civic body here.

“We are impressed by the greenery of the city and are looking forward to implementing it in our town. We are curious to see how the waste processing plant generates energy,” said councillor Kiran Kumar.

The delegation held a meeting with MC Additional Commissioner Saurabh Mishra and other senior officers and were briefed about corporation, roads, water supply, gardens and green belts, garbage processing plant, urban planning and architecture of the city.

The delegation visited the landfill site at Dadu Majra and various gardens of the city, including Rose Garden and Rock Garden etc.
