One more swine flu case was reported on Sunday, taking the total number of cases to 44 in Chandigarh. A 52-year-old woman, who is a resident of Sector 52 in the city, was admitted to the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where she was tested positive. On Saturday, four persons were tested positive.
So far, six persons have died of swine flu. The first death was reported on July 20 when a 42-year-old man, who was a resident of Sector 37, died at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. The Health Department has issued guidelines that if one is sick or have flu-like symptoms, he or she should not step outside, wash hands frequently, cover face while sneezing and coughing and avoid crowded places.
