Chandigarh, May 29

In a major relief to the allottees of Purab Premium Apartments in Sector 88, Mohali, who were up in arms, Punjab Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh today approved condoning unusual delay in payment of instalments.

With this relief, the defaulter allottees will now be able to take possession of their apartments after payment of the due amount. Following the numbering draw of the scheme held in January, 2016, allotment letters of defaulter allottees were on hold. There were 92 allottees who had failed to make payment of installment in time as provided in the brochure/Letter of Intent (LoI).

Disclosing this, here today, Additional Chief Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, Vini Mahajan said with the completion of 2 more towers A-2 and A-3 of Purab Premium Apartments, GMADA has issued allotment-cum-possession letters to 80 more LoI holders of this scheme. Till date, 890 apartments have been allotted and 130 more are ready for possession. Construction work of the remaining 600 flats is likely to be completed by the end of this year.

THE PROJECT

  • The project, spread over 37 acres of land has 27 towers of 60 apartments each. It offers 3 types of apartments in 15 storeyed towers built in southern Mohali designed for different income groups.
  •  The project layout provides for more than 60 per cent open space.

All apartments are North-East facing, designed with respect to the wisdom of Vaastu. All apartments are exposed to sun and fresh air to minimise requirement for electricity. Apartments are equipped with automatically operated generator back-up, garbage chute, piped LPG/NPG, pressurised water supply, quake proof structures, speed elevators, underground electric cabling and no electric poles. Basement all through the project measuring approximately 1 lakh square meters has been reserved exclusively for parking facilities. The construction agency is one of the top companies in the country and the specifications are of the highest quality. Many corporates are in touch with GMADA for bulk allotment of flats for their executives.

STRATEGIC LOCATION

Being a virtual extension of Chandigarh, Mohali has emerged as the hub of modern urban growth in Punjab. The project has a strategic location with international airport at a distance of 11 km, the Indian School of Business (ISB) at 6 km, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at 35 km, the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) at 6 km and the National Institute of Biotechnology at 7 km. It is an integrated complex comprising indoor/outdoor sports facilities, community centre, shopping plaza, walking tracks and gym facilities. Mohali is witnessing rapid pace of in-migration comprising professionals and those seeking good education.
