Chandigarh, February 17
Based on the format of the popular show Shark Tank, The Chandigarh Pitch Night, organised by the Chandigarh Angel Network and panel of investors at the ongoing TiECON 2017 meet here today, has committed investment worth Rs 1.80 crore to four start-ups across different sectors. The opportunity offered participants to come up with a live pitch.
Shark Tank is an American reality television series that premiered on August 9, 2009, on ABC. It shows aspiring entrepreneur -contestants as they make business presentations to a panel of “shark” investors, who then choose whether or not to invest.
Mumbai-based Yolo Health, a health screening kiosk with integrated medical devices, received commitment of Rs 25 lakh. Similarly, Bangalore-based Loanmeet received investment
commitment of Rs 55 lakh. Using alternative and financial data, Loanmeet provides short term (15-30 days) working capital loans ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 3 lakh to small retailers for financing.
The third start-up Eckovation headquartered in Delhi received commitment of Rs 60 lakh
from the investors. Eckovation is a social learning platform. It ensures access to quality education by amplifying the reach of educators and connecting them with learners.
Another start-up from Delhi Healers at Home received investment commitment of Rs 40 lakh from the investors. The four investors were shortlisted by Chandigarh Angel Network to participate in the Pitch Night.
