The three-day 45th Rose Festival, will start tomorrow. The festival will be inaugurated by UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore and MP Kirron Kher will be a special guest.
The Tribune is the media partner of the Rose Festival, organised by the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation and the UT Tourism Department, from February 17 to 19.
For the first time there will be competition for newlyweds and chopper rides for the visitors. The MC has also made signboards and boards in the Rose Garden, Sector 16, in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
Prof Pandit Rao Dharennavar had made effort to promote Punjabi language in Chandigarh also pushed for Punjabi language on boards in the Rose Garden.
During the Rose Festival, various competitions will be organised during the three days including flower competition, flower hat competition, rose quiz, rose prince and princess, rose kind and queen, kite flying and on-the-spot painting to name a few.
Folk dance teams from different states, arranged by the North Zone Cultural Centre, will also participate in the Rose Festival.
