CHANDIGARH: The tricity and the surrounding areas today reported 34 fresh cases of dengue, including 27 from Mohali district.

Chandigarh, November 2

The tricity and the surrounding areas today reported 34 fresh cases of dengue, including 27 from Mohali district. The district also reported 14 fresh cases of chikungunya.

Besides, five fresh cases of dengue were also reported from various health institutions across Chandigarh, taking the total number of dengue cases in the city to 755. Three cases of chikungunya were reported from the city, taking the total number to 178. From Panchkula, two cases each of dengue and chikungunya were reported. As part of preventive measures, daily fumigation is being carried out, besides creating mass awareness and checking breeding sources such as coolers, containers and tyres. — TNS
