Fly Dubai willing to launch flight twice daily from Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH:Fly Dubai is willing to launch Chandigarh-Dubai flight twice in a day within three weeks of getting necessary approvals from the central government.

Chandigarh, December 1

Fly Dubai is willing to launch Chandigarh-Dubai flight twice in a day within three weeks of getting necessary approvals from the central government. But its application seeking approval for launching operations from Chandigarh airport is pending before the Centre since June 14 this year. Information to this effect was furnished by senior advocate Manmohan Lal Sarin as the case hovering around making Chandigarh international airport fully functional came up for resumed hearing before the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The Central government said Fly Dubai had sent a letter in June this year for launching flights from Chandigarh. Responding to Court query on Centre’s part in granting necessary approvals, the Centre claimed there was some problem regarding international slots. The Bench directed the Centre to consider Fly Dubai’s request seriously. — TNS
