Chandigarh, March 22

A team of the UT police and forensic experts, along with family members of the 25-year-old woman who was reportedly found dead in a pool of blood near the Poultry farm roundabout on March 20, today visited the spot. The victim’s family has rejected the police theory stating that the victim, Rajni, accidently fell from a moving auto. Her kin alleged that the victim was thrown out of the auto.

The victim who worked at a jewellery store in Mohali was returning home when the incident took place. The victim was dropped till the Sector 20/21/35/34 roundabout by one of her colleagues on a scooter. She then took an auto to reach Hallo Majra.

As per the police theory, the victim accidently fell out of the moving auto and the auto driver managed to flee from the spot.

The victim’s relatives and forensic experts today visited the spot and lifted the victim’s blood samples from there. The victim’s kin stated that the blood stains were also found around 500m before the spot where the victim was found.

“I suspect that it was my wife’s blood only. Things will be clear after we receive a report,” said the victim’s husband, Eric.

Eric, who is a cab driver, said he could not believe the police theory that his wife fell from the auto.

“I have a strong suspicion either my wife was pushed out of the auto or she jumped out to save her life,” he said.

The victim’s kin said they suspect that the accused might have tried to sexually assault her.

“We are waiting for the autopsy report only after which the things will be clear,” Eric said.

The preliminary autopsy report has pointed out towards head injury as the cause of death.
