NGOs, residents urged to adopt stray dogs

CHANDIGARH: Mayor Asha Jaswal today appealed to city-based NGOs and local residents to pick stray dogs for adoption.

Mayor Asha Jaswal today appealed to city-based NGOs and local residents to pick stray dogs for adoption.

She said city-based NGOs should come forward for adopting stray dogs and the process regarding writing to these NGOs had been initiated by the department concerned of the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.

Mayor Asha Jaswal said people/NGOs adopting stray dogs would have to intimate the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, at the office of the Medical Officer of Health, MC, Chandigarh, for record purpose only so that they might be honoured for the noble cause in future.
