No tax on plays at Tagore Theatre

Chandigarh, January 11

The UT Administration has waived the entertainment tax on plays to be performed at the Tagore Theatre. The Administration has issued the notification in exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (3) of Section 11 of the Punjab Entertainment Duty Act, 1955 (as applicable to UT, Chandigarh )The order says that theatre performances to be staged at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, will no longer require to pay entertainment duty, where the ticket amount is up to Rs 200 per seat. — TNS
