Having visited the city last month to check on cleanliness, a quality control official collected feedback of residents regarding the ‘Swachh Survekshan’ today. Achint got around 375 forms filled, which included six questions, from residents.

The questions included difference between city’s cleanliness as compared to the previous year, satisfaction regarding garbage lifting and disposal, condition of public toilets and whether the Municipal Corporation had done enough to make them aware about the survekshan. Also, questions regarding availability of dustbins in markets and number of toilets were included in the form.

Residents said the option to fill the form was available online but they were not aware about it. Less than 600 forms were filled online which was not enough for the survey. The forms could be filled online till February 28 and Achint urged the residents to do the same. Had enough forms been filled online, the official would not had to visit the city personally.

The forms were filled by residents at markets, temples and other public areas. Members of resident welfare associations, a local MLA and an official of the MC also filled the form.

Out of 2,000 marks in the survey, 500 marks are for this phase and it will be crucial. Panchkula is set to lose marks on many counts, especially disposal of garbage and solid waste management.
