Chandigarh, February 21 

The three-day Rose Festival concluded with a cultural function, including performances and competitions, held at Rose Garden, Sector 16. Mayor Arun Sood distributed prizes to the winners. On the third day, a musical evening — Bollywood Evening with Indian Idol — was organised by the Municipal Corporation. 

Famous Bollywood singer Jaisim and Indian Idol runners-up Anuj Sharma and Gulshan Tandon sung various numbers with orchestra and musical band. They enthralled the audience with their performance on live band show. 

During the day, various competitions were held including on the spot painting competition. 

The Mayor was the chief guest and distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions, participants of cultural events, band parties as well as gardeners. 

Mayor lauded the efforts of the team of officers to make the festival a success. Councillors and all senior officers were present during the prize distribution function. The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh also held various competitions for neighbourhood parks, gardens and other categories and today in the prize distribution function prizes were distributed to the winners under the banner of 44th Rose Festival-2016.

Budh Ram, gardener, Horticulture wing of MC was the special Guest of Honour and  Arun Sood, Mayor took him in his car to the venue.
