Patiala, March 16

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has constituted a two-member committee to inquire into the allegations against the Principal of Government Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala.

SGPC president Kirpal Singh Badungar said the committee had been formed to look into the matter. He said Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, manager, Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib, Patiala; and Avtar Singh, head granthi, Bahadargarh Gurdwara had been nominated as the members of the probe panel.

Notably, students staged a protest in front of the college gate and claimed that the College Principal had denied permission to organise a religious programme on the college campus. The protesters alleged that the Principal had used foul language for Guru Granth Sahib and Sikh preachers. A video of conversation between the students and the Principal has also gone viral on social networking sites. — OC
