Lalru, January 9
A policeman was killed while two security personnel were injured when a pilot Gypsy in the convoy of Haryana Mines and Geology Minister Nayab Singh overturned here tonight. The victim has been identified as Sandeep.
The minister’s vehicle was not involved in the accident and he is safe, said police sources.
The security personnel were escorting the minister on his way towards Chandigarh. The sources said the incident occurred around 10.30 pm near Sirsini village in Lalru. The minister’s cavalcade was coming from the Ambala side.
According to eyewitnesses, a tyre of the Gypsy burst while moving at a high speed following which the driver lost control over the vehicle and it overturned.
