A couple residing in the Dadu Majra colony was hospitalised after a suicide bid following an altercation between the two. While the man tried to slit his wrist, his wife hanged herself.

According to the police, the couple, Ranjit Singh and Sunita, had a fight last night. On hearing noise, neighbours informed the police.

On arriving at the spot, the police found the main door locked from inside. Failing to receive any response after repeated knocks, the police broke open the door.

Sources said the man was lying on the floor while his wife had hanged herself with a stole. Both of them were rescued and rushed to the hospital where they are under treatment. The sources said the condition of the couple was serious. Ranjit works as a labourer.
