Chandigarh, April 28

A local court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to five officials, including the chairman and director, of a Sector 38 private school in a corporal punishment case. The court has also barred them from leaving the country without permission.

Notably, the court had directed the UT police to register an FIR against the chairman, director, principal, vice-principal and counsellor of the school. Last year, the mother of a minor student got to know that her son was beaten up in the school. The incident had allegedly taken place on May 11, 2016.
