The CIA-II of the Panchkula police today arrested seven youths who were gambling at a hotel in the Mansa Devi Complex. The accused were caught during a raid at Hotel Windsor of Bhainsa Tibba village. The police had received a tip-off following which a special team was formed, which conducted the raid and nabbed the accused with over Rs 1.13 lakh.
According to the police, the accused are Krishan Kumar, Manish Saxena, Gurdev, Jitendra of Bir Ghaggar, Salim Mohhamed of Bapu Dham colony, Chandigarh, Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Zirakpur, and Rattan Lal.
ASI Ramesh Kumar of the CIA-II said the team raided the hotel around 6 pm today where the accused were caught red-handed in a room. One of the accused, Rattan Lal, had been arrested thrice before for the same offence.
The police have registered a case against the accused under the Gambling Act and the hotel had been issued a warning.
