Barnala man held for casting couch gets bail

CHANDIGARH: The Barnala native arrested for casting couch was granted a regular bail by a local court.

The Barnala native arrested for casting couch was granted a regular bail by a local court. He was released on a bail bond of Rs 50,000.

Advocate Vivek Kathuria said the girl, who was named in the case, was not made to join the investigation, thus no case was made out against the accused. Harpreet Bawa was arrested for allegedly posing himself as a casting director and lured young women and aspiring models with false promises of casting them in movies and songs.

Darshan Aulakh, a resident of Sector 21 who is an actor and casting director, had complained to the police that a man was using the name of his production house, Darshan Aulakh Productions, to lure models from Chandigarh, Punjab and Mumbai. — TNS
