Mohali, November 24
The police have arrested a man in connection with the alleged suicide of his wife.
The body of Karamjit Kaur, the wife of the arrested suspect Ravinder Singh of Siswan village, was found in the Siswan dam on Monday. The girl belonged to Mohan Majra village.
The police said the grandfather of the deceased had complained that the woman had been allegedly harassed and beaten up by her in-laws for dowry.
A case has been registered under Sections 304 B and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Mullanpur Garibdass police station. — OC
