Missing man’s body recovered, 3 held

With the arrest of three persons, the police claimed to have cracked the mystery of a missing Patiala-based man by declaring that he was kidnapped and later allegedly thrown into the Bhakra Canal. The police are yet to arrest a woman accomplice, Paramjit Kaur.

The police confirmed that Parveen Giri, who had been missing from the past few days, was kidnapped and later handcuffed only to be thrown into the canal allegedly by his own friend Gurpreet Kaka. A few days ago, the victim’s wife had lodged a missing complaint about her husband.

“Parveen was called by Kaka on some pretext near the Bhakra Canal on the Nabha Road, where Kaka and his friends Sanjay and Vicky Singh were already waiting for him at Paramjit Kaur’s house. They handcuffed him and allegedly threw him into the canal,”said Patiala SP (Detective) Harwinder Singh.

 We also came to know that the trio had allegedly killed another local man in a similar fashion some time ago and investigations are on in that case as well,” he said.
