Day of Biological Diversity observed

CHANDIGARH:The Society Natural Biodiversity and the PU Staff Club collaborated with the Punjab Biodiveristy Board and the UNESCO Network Chair to celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity on May 20 and 21 at Panjab University.

Chandigarh, May 21 

The Society Natural Biodiversity and the PU Staff Club collaborated with the Punjab Biodiveristy Board and the UNESCO Network Chair to celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity on May 20 and 21 at Panjab University.  

The event saw an enthusiastic participation of hundreds of people, who took part in a number of events, including nature and photo walk, exhibition, workshop on photography, lecture on stray dogs on May 20 besides cycle Rally and an exhibition today.

Dr Arun Bansal, Administrator, Natural Biodiversity, informed that the society worked to bridge the gap between the science and common people. This time, apart from lectures on stray dogs, a pigeon show by was arranged. 

A photo exhibition on the theme, “Biological Diversity”, was organised for the participants on the occasion. 

Works of eminant nature lovers were put on display during the programme. A cycle rally was also organised, covering the each and every corner of Panjab University.
