The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Haryana Police arrested Dera Sacha Sauda’s state body member Ramesh Taneja in connection with the Panchkula violence.
The accused was arrested from Fatehabad. Taneja was also in the list of the most wanted people for the Panchkula violence.
Sources revealed that Taneja played a key role in the Panchkula violence.
On August 25, the dera followers had went on rampage after Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted in the rape case of two sadhvis. During the violence, 35 people were killed and more than 200 people got injured.
