Chandigarh, November 21

As Harmohan Dhawan, former Union Minister and senior BJP leader, has started preparations to host two senior leaders of the BJP - Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha - in Chandigarh in first week of December, the development has created flutter within the party.

Already facing factionalism, the new move of Dhawan is set to pose the challenge to the party leadership.

Both senior leaders - Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha - are known for open attacks on the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

When Yashwant Sinha criticised the state of economy recently, BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha came out in support of his party colleague openly saying he was a true statesman and had shown the mirror to the government. From demonetisation to GST, Yashwant Sinha, former finance minister, has attacked many policies of the government.

Hosting these leaders by Dhawan will have far-reaching effect in the local politics of Chandigarh. Feeling sidelined by the party, Dhawan has expressed his unhappiness at various occasions.

When the Administration had revised the rates of conversion fee manifold, Dhawan has criticised the party leaders for being a mute spectator to the decision. Dhawan has also launched attack on the issue of vendors.

When contacted, Harmohan Dhawan confirmed that both leaders - Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha - are visiting Chandigarh soon.

He said being old friend and colleague of both leaders for more than 30 years, he would welcome them. Dhawan said it was unfortunate that the party leadership is ignoring him while he always stood for the party.

Dhawan said he always fought for the people and no one could stop him from speaking the truth in favour of the people.
