Acting on Paramjit Singh Bheora’s plea for a two-hour custody parole to see his ailing mother, a division bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court today directed the counsel of the Union Territory to send a team of doctors to Bhateri village near Rajpura in Patiala district.

Bheora is an accused in the Beant Singh assassination case.

The team of doctors would verify the condition of his mother. If she was in a condition to travel, she would be provided an ambulance to travel to Burail Jail, Chandigarh, along with doctors.

The bench of Justice AB Chaudhary and Justice Inderjit Singh also fixed February 27 as the next date of hearing on the plea filed through counsel Simranjit Singh.
