Chandigarh, November 20
The Registering and Licensing Authority has decided to shift the venue for holding the driving test at the ground of the government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Sector 28-C, Chandigarh, from November 21. The decision has been taken due the construction work and repair of the cement concrete path at Children Traffic Park, Sector 23, for the Innovative Driving Test System project. The RLA is working on the project.
The new system will improve the standard of the driving test and reduce the possibility of human error. Sources in the RLA said the system would be implemented within two months. Officials of the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT), Pune, which has been assigned the task, said major works had almost been completed. The system will be installed at Children Traffic Park and will approximately cost Rs 2 crore. — TNS
