The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-Phase II today. Around 12,000 aspirants appeared for the test at over 26 centres across the tricity.

NEET is for those who seek admission to undergraduate dental and medical courses in medical colleges across the country. The first phase was held on May 1 and over 6.50 lakh aspirants took the exam across the country.

On directive of the Supreme Court, NEET is being held in two phases. The results of NEET-I and NEET-2 will be declared on August 17.

“I found NEET-II easier than the previous examination which was held in May but there were several questions which were repeated from NEET-I. Chemistry questions were a tad difficult than physics and biology,” said Purva, a student from Chandigarh.

Another aspirant Sirjan felt the paper was more difficult than NEET-II because the physics and chemistry sections were somewhat tough.

Pulkit, who appeared in the exam, found the physics part difficult. He, however, said overall NEET-II was easier than NEET-I.

“Thankfully there was no error in the question paper,” remarked another aspirant Riya Ghai.

A majority of aspirants of NEET-II were those who appeared in NEET-I. They took the exam again today to improve their score.

“The biology section was along the expected lines,” said Pallav Behl, a student.

“Most of the biology questions were framed from the NCERT books but were not straight one liners. A few questions were beyond NCERT books. Some tricky questions were repeated from previous year papers of the AIPMT, stressing the need for students to go through these papers every year,” said biology expert Dr Arvind Goyal.

The chemistry section of NEET-II was well framed and conceptual, said chemistry teacher Ananya Ganguly.
