ICSE, ISC results to be out today

The Class X ICSE and Class XII ISC results will be declared at 3 pm tomorrow by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). This year, 42,880 students took the ISC examination, which was held from February 8 to April 8. The ICSE started on February 29 and concluded on March 31. As many as 1,69,381 students appeared for it.

The results are being announced two weeks ahead of schedule as the CISCE introduced the Live Ink Character Recognition (LICR) technology for the evaluation of answersheets.

The new technique captures and digitise marks entered on the top sheets of answer scripts and instantly encrypts and transfers the captured data to the Council’s cloud-based servers directly from the evaluation centres. The council is the first examination board in the world to introduce the LICR system.

Meanwhile, students in Chandigarh are a nervous lot a day before the results are out. “I am excited as well as nervous,” said a Class XII student at St Xavier's Senior Secondary School.

“I already have butterflies in my stomach. I won’t be able to sleep tonight,” said a Class X student of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26.

Her school director Atul Khanna is equally eager. “We are confident that our children will get what they deserve,” he said.

There are five ICSE schools in the city – St Kabir School, Sector 26; Strawberry Fields World School; Sector 26, St Xavier's School’, Sector 44, St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, and Tender Heart School, Sector 33.
