Medical teachers thank Mohindra for Dr Anita’s appointment

PATIALA:The Punjab State Medical and Dental Teachers Association has expressed gratitude to the Minister of Medical Education and Research Brahm Mohindra for appointing senior-most professor Dr Anita Gupta as the regular Principal of Government Medical College, Patiala, on merit and as per norms of the Medical Council of India (MCI).

The Punjab State Medical and Dental Teachers Association has expressed gratitude to the Minister of Medical Education and Research Brahm Mohindra for appointing senior-most professor Dr Anita Gupta as the regular Principal of Government Medical College, Patiala, on merit and as per norms of the Medical Council of India (MCI).

A deputation of medical teachers led by state General Secretary DS Bhullar held a meeting with the minister in Patiala late evening with a detailed discussion on the long-pending demand of time-bound promotions of medical teachers which has no financial burden on the state government.

The minister assured the members to consider their demand sympathetically on priority and streamlining the department functioning on merits. The matter of handing over the newly-constructed building of the medical college for running the para-medical training courses silently to the private Max Hospital of Mohali was also brought to the notice of the minister.

Another deputation of the Patiala branch of the IMA led by its president Dr Rakesh Arora submitted a detailed plan of IMA road map on drug de-addiction in Punjab with assurance to the minister that IMA members will play a proactive role to assist the state government in its mission to free state from drugs.
