Panchkula, March 2

Showers disrupted power supply to various parts of the township plunging into darkness on Sunday night.

Rain left many trees and electricity poles uprooted hitting the power supply. Electricity supply was snapped in Sectors 4, 5 and 6 at Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) and Sectors 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 25 and 26 at night.

However, the power supply was restored after some hours. In some sectors, electricity supply was restored early in the morning.

In Sectors 4, 6 and 7, there was no power during the day. The supply was restored only after the electricity department officials repaired the faults.

Waterlogging was also witnessed at a few roundabouts, but the lanes were later cleared.

The traffic lights were not working at the MDC T-point, Red Bishop light point, the Sector 20 light point and other intersections. Traffic cops were seen regulating traffic at these places.
