A fire broke out at the dumping ground in Sector 23 here on Friday night after which residents of nearby Sectors complained of breathing problems. Besides, fire incidents were also reported in the forest area of Morni, and open areas in Sectors 2 and 5.
To control the fire at the dumping ground, the Panchkula MC Fire Wing had pressed more than 20 fire tenders. Residents said the civic body had failed to find a permanent solution to such incidents which kept occurring time and again. A senior MC fire official said there was fire in the waste and they used sand to control fire. — TNS
