Five arrested with illicit liquor

PATIALA:The police have arrested five persons with illicit liquor in separate cases.

Patiala, February 21

The police have arrested five persons with illicit liquor in separate cases. As many as 1,740 bottles of illicit liquor and three cars were recovered from the accused. 

SSP S Boopathi today said the police had set up a naka near Dhareri Jattan village in Rajpura and on suspicion, they stopped a car. He said on frisking, the police recovered 600 bottles from Sharma Singh (19) and Bara Singh (23), both residents of Sherpur in Sangrur.

During a routine checking near the Sirhind bus stand, the police arrested Navdeep Singh (40) with 540 bottles of illicit liquor. The police also compounded an Enova car, which was being used by the accused.  

In another case, the police recovered 600 bottles of illicit liquor from Roshan Singh (31) and Amrik Singh (27).
