The police are groping in the dark after the recovery of a 7-month-old foetus from Jaspal Colony on the Nabha-Malerkotla road here on Friday morning. According to sources, the police failed to procure any CCTV footage and widen the investigation by getting the list of pregnant women from nursing homes and hospitals in the town.
Sources further added that it might be the handiwork of a person from Rajpura, Bhawanigarh and Bhadson to dodge the police.
Investigating officer ASI Harjit Singh said the investigation into the case was on and hoped that the accused would be nabbed soon.
