Footage shows robbers walking through parking lot

Chandigarh, May 3

The three robbers, including a woman, who struck at Forever Diamonds, had walked up to the jewellery store through a parking lot in Sector 17. The robbers are seen holding a bag and walking towards the store in the CCTV footage of a camera installed outside one of the showrooms across the road.

The jewellery store was robbed at gunpoint on May 1 by two men and a woman, all believed to be in their mid-twenties.

In the footage, the robbers are seen walking past a parking lot towards the jewellery store and crossing the road.

While one of the accused is wearing a yellow T-shirt, another robber is seen holding a bag in which the stolen jewellery was to be kept. They are followed by a woman, who is seen wearing a suit. They seem to be in a rush.

Since the cameras were far, the faces of the accused are not visible.

Eighteen minutes after the robbers went inside the jewellery store, they are seen coming out and heading towards the rear parking, which is generally empty on Sundays. The images were captured in a camera installed outside a restaurant adjoining the store.

The police have not ruled out the possibility of the fourth accused waiting in a car for the robbers near the parking lot, so that they could flee from the spot.

The police are also scrutinising the CCTV footage of cameras installed at various light points.

The police today collected the CCTV footage of cameras installed outside various showrooms. The footage from one restaurant on the corner of the same block was collected by the police.

With the help of the footage, the investigators are trying to create the route through which the robbers had come.
