Four-day CII fair kickstarts

CHANDIGARH: The 22nd edition of the CII Chandigarh Fair began here today. As many as 260 exhibitors are participating in the fair. The Ministry of AYUSH will open consultation clinics for visitors.

The 22nd edition of the CII Chandigarh Fair began here today. As many as 260 exhibitors are participating in the fair. The Ministry of AYUSH will open consultation clinics for visitors.

The fair was inaugurated by Anurag Aggarwal, Home Secretary, Chandigarh; and Sandeep Jain, chief general manager, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Aggarwal said, “The fair has proved to be a great platform for wholesalers, retailers, importers and exporters, manufacturers and representatives from various trade and non-governmental organisations.”

Man Mohan Singh Kohli, chairman, CII Chandigarh Fair-2017 and the CEO, Aroma Group, said, “For Diwali shoppers, we have offered discounts and gifts besides fun activities for children. We have a wide range of items under one roof.” “The effect of the GST, if any, will be offset by huge discounts on all products,” he added.

Health tips for visitors

In a first, medical experts have been invited to speak on lifestyle-related issues at the fair. The Department of AYUSH, Chandigarh, has nominated Dr Manju Shree, Assistant Director (Homeopathy), and Dr Rajiv Kapila, a senior ayurvedic physician, to deliver talks on Saturday between 5 pm and 6 pm. They will speak on the treatment of diabetes in ayurveda and homeopathy. On Day 3, Dr NS Bhardwaj, Deputy Director, Ayurveda; and Dr Manisha Arora; senior dietician, GMCH, Sector 16, Chandigarh, will deliver a talk on the role of lifestyle and food habits in the life.
