One more fresh case of swine flu was reported from Panchkula district. The 30-year-old patient is from Kalka and is undergoing treatment at the General Hospital, Sector 6, here. Till now, a total of 11 cases of swine flu have been reported from the district.
Dr VK Bansal, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Panchkula, said they had already set up an isolated ward at the emergency for patients affected with H1N1. If required, they would also open two rooms at the third floor of the hospital. The hospital had made all arrangements to tackle swine flu cases, he said.
Meanwhile, Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Gauri Parashar Joshi also held a meeting with health and MC officials in connection with dengue, malaria and chikungunya. The DC directed the officials to start special sanitation campaigns in areas such as Rajiv Colony, Indira Colony, Budanpur, Abhaypur, Maheshpur, Haripur, Old Panchkula, Bhainsa Tibba and Sector 19. She also directed the officials to carry out regular spray at the dumping ground. — TNS
One swine flu, 3 dengue cases in Mohali dist
Mohali: One more case of swine flu and three of dengue have been reported from Mohali district. The fresh case of swine flu has been reported from Zirakpur where a five-year-old child was tested positive for H1N1. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Panchkula, said the health authorities. Now the total number of swine flu cases in the district has touched 11. Meanwhile, three case of dengue have been reported from Nayagoan. “Our teams will visit the area on Saturday and do the needful there,” said the health authorities. TNS
