A two-day international seminar on ‘Sustainable Development, Gandhian Legacy and 21st Century Challenges’ ended with the valedictory function at the Gandhi Bhawan at the PU here today.

Prof Ronki Ram, who was the guest of honour, said Gandhism was as relevant today as in the past. “His concept of ‘Sustainable development’ shows how better we can use our natural resources such as water and with human development,” he said.

In his valedictory address, Prof MS Jaglan, Department of Geography, Kurukshetra University, said in the 21st Century, new challenges had been proved that climate change would eminently impact the ecological conditions across the world. There was a need to take action from local to global level to mentor and adapt to climate change, he said.

Around 80 research papers were presented by eminent scholars and faculty members from various universities during the two-day seminar.
