Mayor to check sanitary conditions in city

CHANDIGARH: Mayor Asha Jaswal today convened a meeting of all sanitary inspectors, contractors and employees unions of the Sanitation Department of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation.

Mayor Asha Jaswal today convened a meeting of all sanitary inspectors, contractors and employees unions of the Sanitation Department of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation.

In the meeting, the Mayor said she would start surprise checks throughout the city in the morning and evening hours from March 24 and inspect proper cleanliness in the areas as per the guidelines of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

During the meeting, the Mayor said under the “Swachh Bharat Mission” all safai karamcharis should focus on creating healthy and hygienic atmosphere in the city by rendering smart work.

She emphasised on total cleanliness throughout slums, villages and colonies of the city.

Mayor Asha Jaswal directed the sanitary inspectors concerned to provide all kind of infrastructure required in the cleaning process, distributing helping tools, including hand gloves, masks, jackets, caps, etc., among the safai karamcharis before April 1.
