An all-round display helped The Gurukul, Panchkula, register a 33-run win over St Xavier’s School, Chandigarh, in the Clive Shear Memorial U-17 Cricket Tournament final here today.
Electing to bat, The Gurukul hammered 85/6 in six overs. Abhimanyu smashed an 11-ball 32, while Arav and Lakshyaveer scored 22 runs each.
St Xavier’s School, in reply, were all out for 53 runs in six overs. Lakshyaveer and Arav took two wickets each for The Gurukul, while Kushpreet (30) was the top scorer for St Xavier’s.
Earlier, in the semifinals, The Gurukul had beat Vivek International School, Baddi. Meanwhile, Arav and Satyam of The Gurukul shared the Best Bowler trophy, while Abhimanyu was adjudged the Best Batsman of the tournament. Kushpreet of St Xavier’s School was declared Man of the Series.
