Harrowing time for Mohali family in lift

Yet another incident of a family being trapped in a lift at Purab Premium Apartments here was reported today.

The trauma lasted an hour for Amarjit Singh, his wife Nidhi and their two-year-old daughter Nitya when they got stuck in the lift this afternoon. This was the third such incident in the past 11 days and the fifth in the past two and a half months. The family was going to its flat on the eighth floor when the lift came to a halt on the sixth floor following a technical snag.

The family raised the alarm. Amarjit contacted the president of the Purab Premium Apartments Residents Welfare Association through his mobile following which residents came to the rescue of the family. — TNS
