Mohit stopped the bus and he, along with the bus conductor, Ravinder Singh, rushed to the rescue of the girl. “The accused got scared and left the girl, who was screaming. The girl ran towards us and said the accused wanted to rape her,” Mohit said. He said acting swiftly, Ravinder caught the youth.

The CTU staff then made the accused and the victim sit in the bus. “We wanted to ensure that the girl remains safe and also that the accused does not escape following which we took both of them inside the bus,” Mohit said.

The police were informed around 3 am and in no time PCR vehicles reached the spot. Mohit said he felt relieved after rescuing the girl safely.
