Health Department observes ‘dry day’

PATIALA:In order to check mosquito breeding in the city, a team of health officials conducted an inspection at various places on Friday.

Patiala, June 22

In order to check mosquito breeding in the city, a team of health officials conducted an inspection at various places on Friday. Under the supervision of District Epidemiologist Gurmanjeet Kaur, the Health Department observed Friday as ‘dry day’ in the residential areas and various government offices of Patiala.

The district administrative complex was sprayed with larvicide. People were made aware of the importance of ‘dry day’ for the prevention of dengue and chikungunya. Civil Surgeon Harish Malhotra said the Health Department was trying to make people aware that open utensils or old goods kept outside  become breeding ground for mosquitoes.—TNS
