Promotions of 384 constables by the outgoing UT DGP played a hide and seek with them as after getting promoted the orders were suspended after a few hours. The same was implemented again the very next day. During these hours, several cops ended up giving a treat to their colleagues twice in 24 hours. First when they got promoted and second when their promotion orders that were suspended were re-implemented.

Enthusiasm for yoga

Residents showed more enthusiasm than the Administration expected during the International Yoga Day celebrations at the Sector 17 Plaza on June 21. While the Administration made arrangements for approximately 4,000 people at the venue, the number of participants exceeded the expectation. The Administration arranged yoga mats and T-shirts to be distributed among the participants after the event. The organisers had a tough time arranging mats for the participants at the last moment and many of them who came for free gifts returned empty-handed.

In splits

Last week, when MP Kirron Kher was about to cut her birthday cake at BJP office Kamalam in Sector 33, electricity supply went off suddenly. She smiled and said, “Meinu pata hai kinhe light bandh kitti hai?” All present there were in splits. Many thought her swipe was at city BJP president Sanjay Tandon. Tandon, who was not present on the occasion, and Kher are known for their differences within the party.
