Chandigarh, February 23

Himachal Eleven beat Sangrur Academy 3-0 while SAI Sonepat defeated Narwana Academy 2-1 on the second day of the 13th All-India Hockey Tournament underway at Amloh today.

In other matches, Shahbad Markanda blanked SGPC Amritsar 3-0 and SAI Kurukshetra routed Nagpur Academy 5-0. In the women’s section, Nagpur Academy got the better of Patiala Eleven 2-0.

The winner and runner-up in the men section will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 71,000 and Rs 41,000, respectively, while the winner and runner-up in the women’s section will take home Rs 31,000 and Rs 21,000, respectively.

The participants of the tournament and schoolchildren will hold an “anti-drug march” tomorrow.
