Kullu-based Active Monal Cultural Association staged a Hindi play titled ‘Chidiya Ke Bahane’ at Tagore Theatre on Sunday. The play was written and directed by Kehar Singh Thakur.

The story reflects the problems of humans in an interesting manner. Thakur had employed three symbolic characters in the play with a protagonist as sparrow, which appears at last as a foreign lady. The second character was an ant which depicts the oppressed labour class of the country. The third character is a horse, which is a head of the nation and dominating the labour class. The play highlights rampant corruption and selfish attitude in the system through a comical genre of situational comedy.
