Hit by car, youth dies

Chandigarh: A 23-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by a speeding car near Tribune Chowk last night. The driver was reportedly under the influence of liquor.

A 23-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by a speeding car near Tribune Chowk last night. The driver was reportedly under the influence of liquor.

The victim has been identified as Mohit, a native of Rohru in Himachal Pradesh. He was working at a hotel in the Industrial Area, Phase I.

According to the police, the victim was crossing the road when the car hit him. The car driver, Surinder Garg, has been arrested and a case registered against him at the Sector 31 police station.
