UT Adviser Vijay Kumar Dev today turned down the demand raised by councillors to bring the house tax agenda in the MC House and then re-issue a notification.

At a meeting with the UT Adviser, the councillors requested that house tax should be routed through the MC House. However, the Adviser said the notification had already been issued and the matter would not go before the MC House now.

The councillors had submitted that the MC would prepare a proposal for introducing a revised and rationalised house tax.

Meanwhile, the Adviser told the councillors that if they were facing political pressure from the public on the house tax issue, they could put the blame on him.

The Adviser told the councillors that they should work as a team with the Administration and the MC for better development of the city.

Meanwhile, Senior Deputy Mayor Rajesh Gupta submitted that gallantry award winners should be exempted from house tax. The Adviser told him to submit his proposal in a written form and they would take a decision in this regard.
